Provided you are satisfied there is no local

objection, and that no extra expense will fall on Army

Funds, approval is given to the provision of a military

guard of not more than about 1 officer and 20 other ranks

for protection against piracy in each C.P.R. ship plying

between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
